As a blogger, one of the things that is part of my content writing process is being able to create efficiencies in making the MOST out of my content. In this post, I’m going to share with you my favorite blog post title headline generators that I absolutely love!
If you are a seasoned online content creator, you KNOW how important creating effective blog post titles are to getting traffic once you are on the first page of Google. It’s second to just getting good content out there.
Now, if you are a new blogger looking for a better way to optimize your content, I’m also here to help you out in that aspect too. HOWEVER, if you are a blogger that has less than 10 blog posts out in the world, I beg you to stop reading this blog post and just start creating NEW content. PLEASE. That’s the one biggest piece of advice I can give to anyone starting an online business today or trying to create an online digital marketing strategy.
You guys all know that I’m a continuous learner, and I only share my FAVORITE online entrepreneurs. I love Brandon Gaille’s podcast the Blog Millionaire where he shares his BEST tips and tricks on creating good headlines. He even has statistics to prove it. He gives an overview of how to create catchy blog titles that drive traffic to your website. The blog post provides power words you should use, the structure of your blog title, and statistics that prove out his formula.
I’m all about strategy, but sometimes I also want a tool to help me so that I don’t have to think about these things. Below, I’m sharing my FAVORITE online blog title and headline optimizers/generators that will help you create awesome blog titles.
Here’s my advice before you use this though: Before you create any content, you need to be doing THOROUGH keyword research in order to:
- Ensuring that there are at least 200+ searches per month on your search phrase you are trying to rank for
- Making sure you even have a chance at ranking (are there other higher authority websites already ranking for your term)
- You can write at least 1500+ words or 20% more than the currently top ranking post for that phrase
Once you do your keyword research, the next step is to create an amazing title with these blog post title generators so that you can start putting your content together.
This is what has worked well for me with creating content on my lifestyle blog and food blog.
Here are some of my favorite blog post title generators and why I love them.
Best FREE Blog Post Title Generators and Optimizers
#1 Tweak Your Biz – Title Generator
This is my favorite one because it lists out all of the tiles in one view by category. All you need to do is put in your phrase, determine if its a noun or a verb, and you can see some amazing ideas for blog titles for your next topic!
#2 Title Generator
If you like lists, you will also like this one because it provides a very clean list. You don’t even need to determine if it is a noun or verb, just put in a phrase and it will create three pages of title ideas for you to choose from.
#3 SeoPressor – Blog Title Generator
If too many options makes you go crazy, this one might be the tool for you. You put in your phrase you want to rank for, choose the type of keyphrase category, and it will then generate six titles. You can click on a button to generate more options if you don’t like what you see.
#4 Portent – Content Idea Generator
If six options is too much, then you can use the title maker idea from Porten. It’s a pretty clean user experience, you add one word, and it generates a single title, but tells you the REASONING behind why the title was generated. It’s a great tool if you want to use it to learn the inner makings of an amazing blog post title or headline.
#5 Content Row – Headline Generator
This one does it in batches of four with the option to generate more headlines. They have a paid version so you can see the “trending” headline. They also have a “scoring” tool called the Headline Analyzer that provides you a score of your current titles. This is great if you are wanting to go back and look at your top ranking content that is having large impressions in your Google Search Console, but a low click through rate.
#6 HubSpot – Blog Ideas Generator
This one has a completely different user interface, quite fancy actually, that allows you to create ideas on that singular topic, and expand topics from there. Imagine your key phrase that you are wanting to write about as a tree. This tool will provide the “branches” of the tree that you can write about.
#7 Kicka** Headline Generator
This one allows you to choose the TYPE of content you are wanting to write about first, then provides a list based on those keywords. This is a good one when you’ve already written your content and just want to see ideas that are specific to how you formatted your content.
#8 CoSchedule Headline Analyzer
This one just provides an analysis of your headline, similar to the Content Row – Headline Analyzer tool. I honestly prefer tools that do the cognitive thinking for me and just allows me to pick from a list of different options.
#9 BuzzSumo
BuzzSumo will provide you a list of different posts that have ranked for that term and shows you how much “engagement” a post had on different social media outlets. This allows you to see what type of title may have contributed to why that post may have a large engagement.
Blog Post Title Tools Used in Blogger Business
From the tools that I use from above, I often use #2 and #9 the most.I also use Feedly, which is an RSS reader, to add BuzzFeed and Huffington Post to provide ideas to craft the best blog titles as well.
I also use a paid tool called Thrive Headline Optimizer. Thrive Themes is actually a suite of tools (you don’t even need to use their theme), and the headline optimizer allows you to add multiple headlines and it will “test” the headline out – meaning how many of those headlines made people scroll. It doesn’t necessarily change the headline shown in Google search engine pages (Google will still uses the Yoast blog post title if you are using that plug-in). However, once I find a post that does well with Thrive Headline Optimizer, I actually change it within Yoast.
I also do a lot of comparison blog posts, and here are some examples of writing engaging blog post titles when you are comparing things in your blog content:
- Mac Vs PC: Which Is Faster?
- Running Versus Cross-Training: Which Is Easier?
- Dog Versus Cat: Which Is the Best Pet?
And that my friends is how I create better headlines than trying to come up with blog post titles myself.
Summary
I hope this helps you as you continue to write amazing content and at least saves you A LITTLE time, but provides you an immense return because you are able to increase click through rates due to your amazing blog title and headline copy!
